Why You Should Join!
The IMAPS-UK Chapter, covers all aspects of microelectronics and packaging from 'The Chip to the System'.
As a Member, you or your Company become part of a worldwide organisation and will gain access to technical information as well as a major global network of microelectronics business.
Members are kept up to date with latest developments and innovative ideas. This is achieved through access to Technical Journals, Bulletins, Conferences, Seminars, Exhibitions and the IMAPS-UK Web Site with links to many other relevant sites.
The ever-increasing complexity of silicon integrated circuits together with high user demand for lighter, more compact equipment is causing dramatic changes in the way we manufacture electronic assemblies. Electronics engineers need to design products taking into account these new manufacturing technologies to enable the realisation of the most competitive product.
Key to this new manufacturing concept is an ever-widening range of technologies. These include: Multi Chip Modules, High Density Packaging, High Density Interconnection and Assembly - predominantly surface mount, Power Hybrid Assemblies and Packages, Intelligent Sensors and Integrated Transducers, Tape Automated Bonding (TAB), Chip on Board (COB) and their allied materials and techniques including Test, Reliability and Thermal Management.
What are the Specific Benefits of IMAPS-UK Membership?
Benefits include:
• Access to a Major Network of Technologists, Scientists and Business People working in microelectronics
• The opportunity for the exchange of ideas between the designer and the manufacturer
• Access to events covering both microelectronics and packaging technologies
• Receipt of Microelectronics International, Advancing Microelectronics and Microtechnology Europe journals and to be an Affiliate Member of IMAPS US
